Coworking Barcelona | 15 Best Spaces for Remote Working (2024)

If you’re planning a trip to the land of flamenco, fiesta, Don Quixote, and breezy afternoon naps, you simply can’t overlook Barcelona. As the Catalan capital and one of the best places to live in Spain, it contains a plethora of attractions that are unique to the region.

What’s more? There are multiple opportunities to enjoy coworking – Barcelona style.

Not only is Barcelona safe for tourists, but it’s an astonishing base for eccentric digital nomads looking for fun things to do while still being productive. It’s one of Europe’s most amazing places to visit and the perfect place to work and play.

In a city this popular, coworking spaces sprout like mushrooms, and it may be challenging to pick the best option. To save you some trouble, we’ve compiled a list of the most productive, motivating, and charming coworking spaces in vibey Barcelona neighborhoods that cater wonderfully to digital nomads.

We Think That La Vaca Is the Coolest Coworking Space in Barcelona

La Vaca in Barcelona

Source: La Vaca

If you care about atmosphere as much as you do about getting some work done, La Vaca is the place for you. The vibe is incredibly positive, and this Barcelona coworking space boasts a diverse community of about 60 members of different demographics and nationalities.

If you’re a social person who relishes turning even your work-free evenings into quirky networking nights, you’ll quickly find a new lifelong friend or two here. The space features organized community lunches and drinks in the common areas, events, and workshops every week.

If you happen to be there at the right time, you may enjoy Paella Day or some other fun activities. Vaqueros — a name affectionately given to its community members — even has its own sports team.

Location is another benefit of this exciting, open coworking space. La Vaca (The Cow) is set up within a former dairy shop, hence the name. You can find it in the center of Poble Sec, a neighborhood that brims with an abundance of quirky and interesting things to do.

Even though the community in La Vaca is a cheerful one, you’d be mistaken to think of the environment as overly laid-back and unconducive to the productive types. The people who cowork here stick to a well-known idea — to play hard, first, you have to work hard.

Surprisingly, this is one of the most ready-to-work places we’ve visited so far.

Many things in La Vaca are designed to make your life easier. The WiFi is fast and reliable. The seating is nice and comfy, with bean bags, Bosu ball chairs, and even ergonomic chairs.

There is a relatively large kitchen equipped with a microwave oven, a regular oven, an espresso machine, a fridge, and everything else that you’ll need for your cheffy exploits. All the necessities are at hand to ensure you stay properly nourished while you tackle the work grind. And did we mention that the tea and coffee are free?

The common spaces include a chill-out area in the basement with a pool table. There is a library and, more importantly for those who appreciate a healthy work-life balance, a nap room. Siesta is a serious thing in Spain, and you know what they say, when in Rome…

You can take your dog with you if you like traveling with your pooch, which should boost the quality of your life immensely. People who don’t have canine companions often underestimate the struggle and anxiety of having to leave your four-legged buddy for even just half a day. La Vaca totally gets it and is more than happy to accommodate you and your pupper for a happier stay all around.

When it comes to extra equipment, you’ve covered with all the following:

  • Overhead projectors
  • Professional lighting equipment
  • Microphones
  • Chromecast
  • Printing equipment

All things considered, La Vaca is an awesome coworking place, so make sure to give it a shot when you find yourself in Catalonia.

Regus Office Spaces Are Our Least Favorite Choice for Cowork in Barcelona

Although offering multiple locations across the city (as many as 12), Regus is our least favorite coworking space in Barcelona because of the lack of transparency when it comes to pricing.

Regus doesn’t have a clear pricing scheme. The price of their services depends on the location in question. Alone, this lack of clarity wouldn’t be that much of an issue. But you never know what is included in the price and what comes at an extra cost, which is rather inconvenient.

When buying services from large companies such as this one, sure, you expect to get and enjoy benefits such as full membership and more than just one location. Sadly, this isn’t guaranteed with Regus.

In addition, some locations include the perks of complimentary coffee or the leeway to use their printing equipment free of charge. Other locations, however, charge extra for those little conveniences. This inconsistency is the crucial downside of Regus, and it makes us fairly unwilling to cowork there.
