8 Premium Coworking Spaces in Zagreb for Remote Workers (2024)

Ever since it entered the EU, Croatia has become more and more popular with work-and-travel enthusiasts. The capital city, Zagreb, is small compared to other major cities, having just around 1,000,000 citizens with all provinces combined. However, the city packs everything into this small package. With English being taught in school from a young age and the quality of education being at a high level, Zagreb is one of the best places to live in Croatia for expats.

The new-age digital jobs are moving people out of corporate office buildings and into their personal space. More and more freelancers and remote workers are seen occupying spaces like cafes and libraries. Some hotels also cater for digital nomads, like the Sheraton in Zagreb, which is on our list of best hotels in Croatia. Rental offices, aware of this trend, decided to adapt to this new demand. They started offering individual spaces, desks, rooms, etc., instead of entire office blocks for rent. Today, coworking spaces can be found in every corner of the world, especially in major cities like Zagreb. Here are our eight favourite (and one not-so-great) coworking spaces:

  1. HUB385
  2. Impact Hub Zagreb
  3. Regus HOTO
  4. Virtual Office
  5. ZICER
  6. InstantOffice
  7. BIZkoshnica
  8. (AVOID) Travel&Tech Hub
  9. (AVOID) Corner Office

Our Favourite Coworking Space in Zagreb Is HUB385

Hub-385Source: HUB385

HUB385 is possibly the most well-rounded coworking space in Zagreb. It has a decent amount of desks, private offices, conference rooms, and event spaces to choose from. At its heart, the centre is dedicated to learning, innovation, and sharing ideas. It hosts many community events, educational courses, and workshops for different generations and skill levels.

The interior design is a modern workspace with splashes of colour, giving it a more friendly and casual vibe. compared to regular corporate offices. There are plenty of packages to choose from, but the space is rather popular, so you should look to reserve in advance. They offer a “Virtual Office” service, with perks such as:

  • A corporate address
  • Reception services
  • Brand recognition by the company
  • Discounts and bonuses to use within their workspace

This is ideal for anyone with a small company looking for a place to call home. The prices are also reasonable compared to similar spaces.

Regus HOTO

Regus

Regus is another global chain, with 3000 office spaces for rent worldwide. They have two places in Zagreb. The one we will mention is known as Regus HOTO (the name of the business tower) or Regus Savska (the name of the street where it’s located in). The space is top-notch, professional-looking and clean.

The interior is modern and roomy, with big windows allowing lots of natural light inside. The minimal design does not distract, although it may be too bland and corporate-looking for some people. We know young entrepreneurs and freelancers prefer a more casual, laid-back office setting. The prices are also a bit high compared to some other great spaces. Still, it’s worth checking out.

ZICER is a 7,300 square meter space dedicated to creative work. Over 100 startups, small businesses, and freelancers are situated there. At ZICER, you can meet lots of like-minded individuals and companies striving for similar goals. The place is ideal for smaller businesses and startups.

There are plenty of mentorship programs, workshops, and community gatherings, where you can exchange information and gain new contacts. Major entrepreneurship events take place here all year round. Joining their network means your projects and work will be exposed to plenty of inside and outside opportunities.

The only drawback is that, unlike other coworking spaces, it’s a long way from the city centre. With that in mind, the prices are definitely very competitive, and there’s a huge variety of spaces to choose from.

BIZkoshnica

Digital Nomad working at Bizkoshnica

Source: Facebook BIZkoshnica

The clever play on words in the name of this space can be read as “Bees Hive”:

  • BIZ is short for Biznis (Business) and pronounced similar to “Bees”
  • “Kosnica” meaning “Hive” when translated

The idea behind it is to share space, knowledge, and work between freelancers, startups, entrepreneurs, and other like-minded people. Individuals or small groups will find themselves at home in BIZkoshnica. That being said, the space is limited and functions on a first-come, first-served basis, meaning it can get full. It’s definitely not recommended for larger groups. The interior is nice and colourful, and there is a full kitchen and relaxation room where you can take a break. The owners do go out of their way to organize social and learning events as well. The drawbacks are a lack of ergonomic furniture and corporate-like working hours.

The Coworking Space in Zagreb You Should Avoid Is Corner Office

Source: Corner Office Facebook

Corner Office advertises itself as a coworking space. However, it’s really just an apartment with a setup desk and whiteboard. We could see how students working on a group project may find this place useful. It could also be used for a small, private business meeting. However, space is definitely not worth the title coworking. On top of that, we can’t find the prices listed anywhere.
